Capitol Event Center 1020 11 St., Sacramento 95814

Happy Hour to follow at Grange Restaurant and Bar

CNMA is very excited to be co-sponsoring SB 464, the California Dignity in Pregnancy and Childbirth Act. The bill is aimed at reducing the effects of implicit bias in pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care so that all women are treated with dignity and respect by their health care providers.

Here are some recent articles about the bill:

Lobby Day also means we will also be keeping our presence up in Sacramento continuing to educate legislators on who CNMs are, what we do, and why removal of physician supervision is so important. This is the continuing to lay the groundwork for our future bill where we will remove physician supervision!!

Lobby day is a fun and empowering experience!

You will receive training and be fully supported in learning how to advocate for for CNMs and our clients.

You will have an opportunity to meet face-to-face your elected officials and/or their staff.

You will have time for socializing and connecting with other midwives!

Clinical preceptor needed for Spring! https://www.cnma.org/students/snm-clinical-sites/clinical-preceptor-needed-for-spring

Hello my name is Casey Johnson. I am a student CNM/WNHP attending Georgetown University's online MSN program. I am looking for a clinical site to host me 2-3 days (24 hours plus) a week starting May for my first session of IP care. I will be a 6th semester student at that time!

I live in sunny San Diego county. I have worked as a PHN in San Diego for 4 plus years for a maternal child home visiting program called the Nurse Family Partnership. Presently I work per diem as a detentions nurse for the San Diego Sheriff's Dept. My clinical sites thus far have been with Scripps clinic Encinitas and am presently at a birth center in Riverside county. Many years ago I precepted with a home birth Midwife in Oregon... I have wanted to be a carer for women since I was a little girl... and am now working back at that goal. I am new, open, enthusiastic, and excited to be learning the art of Midwifery and women's health! My long term career goals are to work with incarcerated women and community clinic settings with under served communities. I would love to start a birth center and health center where ever I land that incorporates primary care, OBGYN, and pediatric services for mama and baby as well!

If you can host me my rotation months are May - August 2019 for 15 weeks. I am hoping to stay within some reasonable miles from my home (because I do have my own babies) but I understand sacrifice so am being open minded to what reasonable may look like.

Thank you, respect, and blessings for the consideration and time viewing my post.

Please contact me via email at : clj75@georgetown.edu or via phone @ 760-989-1095.

URGENT PRECEPTOR NEEDED!

https://www.cnma.org/students/snm-clinical-sites/student-midwife-from-frontier-needs-a-new-site-urgently

My name is Mindy Brown-Lechner, RN, MSN, FNP-BC.

I'm in a Post-Master's Midwifery certificate program at Frontier Nursing University.

I would prefer to stay in the SF Bay Area but am willing to move anywhere in the state for up to 4 weeks if necessary

Hello, I am looking for a CA site for either a 3 day intensive or possibly 3-4 week stint. I have most of my hours but have had mostly labor management for the past 6 months at a lower-volume site in the Bay Area and now am needing about 20-25 births to finish my program. I found out recently that I need to find another site. I am looking to start sometime in April but later would work if it needs to. I have worked 10 years as an NP at a county clinic in mostly gyn/first trimester ob in Oakland California. I also have 2 years of L& D experience prior to that in San Francisco. I have precepted several students as well, but really can't seem to find a site local that would take me since UCSF is so predominant in my area. Please help, I am *so close* and am feeling anxious about finishing! If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks so much for your consideration!
