Liz completed her midwifery education studies at University of California, San Francisco in 2015. She provides prenatal, labor and postpartum care with Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek, CA and reproductive health care with Planned Parenthood in Antioch, CA. As a midwife, she relishes the opportunity to partner with her clients to understand, articulate and embody their own truth in the context of their reproductive healthcare.

 

Liz is thrilled to be Vice-Chair of the California Nurse Midwives Association Health Policy Committee and liaison to the California Coalition for Reproductive Freedom. She approaches her health policy and clinical work from a foundation in Reproductive Justice - recognizing that all people have the human right to decide if, when, where, and with whom to have children, and to parent any children they have in safe and healthy communities.
 
Liz is committed to identifying and supporting systemic solutions to improve reproductive health for communities most affected by health disparities, including POC, trans, LGBQ+, disabled, and poor communities. She recognizes that members of these communities are best equipped to develop the solutions to their reproductive health needs and is committed to supporting and amplifying the voices and work of individuals from these communities. 
 
Prior to becoming a midwife she co-founded The Bay Area Doula Project (BADP) and started BADP’s monthly speaker series The Salon Series on Reproductive Health. As a midwife, she has provided workshops to clinicians on the use of Structural Competency to address racism and co-authored a chapter in Varney’s Midwifery that is focused on LGBTQ+ health and race-based disparities. As volunteer clinical faculty at UCSF she participates in efforts to increase the racial diversity, equity and inclusion of the midwifery cohorts at her alma-mater.
 
Liz loves eating brunch with her sweetie, cuddling with her niece Nia, dancing, hiking and creating collaborative art spaces.
