This webinar, offered by ACNM will explore ways that surgical first assisting fits into a variety of different practice settings. We will hear from five Certified Nurse-Midwives as they discuss the value of becoming a midwife surgical first assistant, as well as maintaining a continuing expanded practice. We will also review important topics like privileging, scope of practice expansion, and billing.
Stanford University is conducting a study to identify community prevalence and spread of Covid-19 in the Greater SF Bay Area. Testing is done in-home with kit delivery and pickup by courier to your door. Results are released on line within 48 hours of kit pickup. After taking a short on line survey to determine eligibility, participants are asked to maintain ongoing daily symptom reporting charts. If selected for testing, the participant is sent a kit to test and instructions on returning the sample, all at no cost to participants. “The presence of a partner or support person is essential to the mental health of patients who are in labor and delivery. CDPH recommends that one support person be allowed to be present with the patient. In addition to the support person, CDPH recommends that a doula, if desired by the patient, be permitted to be present if prior arrangements have been made with the hospital and the doula complies with hospital PPE and infection control guidelines.” More here
