MEET: Mary Newberry

Mary Newberry received her Masters degree from University of California, San Francisco in 2001 and has been working full time as a midwife in the Bay Area since that time.

 

She has assisted in the birth of over a thousand babies, and never forgets that each that each birth is a unique and life-transforming experience for a woman and her family. Mary provides well-woman gynecological care to women across their lifespan, and aims to empower her clients with knowledge so they can make educated decisions about their health.

 

She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of nutrition and self-care practices in order to help women return to health and remain healthy.

 

Mary recently completed training in the Functional Medicine approach in order to enrich and expand the care that she provides. In addition to her work in both the hospital Labor and Delivery Department and her office-based practice, Mary enjoys teaching.

 

She is a guest lecturer at various Bay Area colleges, where she speaks on midwifery and the politics of women’s healthcare. Mary is an avid traveler, yoga practitioner, backpacker, cook and want-to-be surfer. She lives in West Marin with her family.
